Also known as the Whiskey Route, Machame Route has grown in popularity. This is a camping route that provides breathtaking views of Mt Meru, the Pare Mountains, Lake Chala, and Lake Jipe. While the six-day itinerary is doable, the seven-day Machame climb is preferable because it allows for one more day of acclimatization and rest before the summit day. This will help you avoid altitude sickness and increase your chances of reaching the summit.
