Mount Kilimanjaro Trekking - Rongai Route 7 Days

Route Overview

This is one of Kilimanjaro’s most accessible routes, and it has grown in popularity in recent years. This route is located on the northern side of Mount Kilimanjaro and features a variety of spectacular landscapes as well as various plant and animal species. The average length of this trip is 6 days. You can, however, add an acclimatization day to make it a 7-day climb.

The Rongai Route is more scenic than the Marangu Route and easier than any other camping route for climbing Kilimanjaro, with a very high success rate. Unlike the Marangu Route, where you sleep in huts, you sleep in tents on the Rongai Route; the porter will have your tent pitched and ready for you at the end of each day’s trek. This route begins on the mountain’s north side, just south of the Kenyan border, and is one of the least traveled. For the summit climb, the route joins the Marangu Route. The descent follows the Marangu Route on the mountain’s southeast side, allowing you to see Kilimanjaro from a variety of vantage points.
