Detailed Itinerary


Your international flight will draw to a close today as you descend over Tanzania, with spectacular views of the snow-capped peaks of Kilimanjaro and Mount Meru. You will touch down at Kilimanjaro International Airport at the base of the 15,000-foot Mount Meru. Upon clearing customs and collecting your baggage, a representative will meet you and your family in arrivals. We will transfer you out to the city and transfer you to your hotel in Arusha town, this first stop will be the perfect place to stretch your legs and unwind before the adventure really begins.

Today after a breakfast you will be met by your guide for short safari briefing before you start a journey to Tarangire National Park, in interesting drive passing through small villages and different landscape to admire. The short safari will take about 2-3hrs depending on the traffic jam in the city, the game viewing begin as soon as you enter the park gate, the park known for its large herds of elephants and giants baobab tree. Later in the afternoon and after exciting day in the park will find a spot under the big tree for your hot lunch and proceeds with game viewing and drive to your lodge located in the Karatu area arriving in time for dinner and overnight at Bougainvillea Safari Lodge.

After breakfast we head towards the Serengeti National Park, via the beautiful high lying farmland of Karatu and the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Leaving the highlands behind, we descend into the heart of wild Africa – the Serengeti National Park – with its endless plains, rolling into the distance as far as the eye can see. Enjoy en route game viewing with packed lunch arriving in your lodge in time for dinner and overnight at Thorn Tree Camp

Enjoy a full day of game viewing in the park, the day is yours to decide you can opt to set out for early game viewing and drive back for late breakfast, or set out after breakfast with packed lunch and spend the whole day in the park. Set out again in the late afternoon for a final round of explorations, seeking out a few final species you have yet to see, or visiting past favourites once more. Later in the evening and after an exciting day in the park dinner and overnight at Thorn Tree Camp

The annual wildebeest migration through the Serengeti and the Masai Mara is the largest mass movement of land mammals on the planet – with more than a million animals following the rains.  But that is not where the game viewing ends; large prides of lions, elephants and giraffes in grasslands, gazelles and eland to mention but a few.”

After an early breakfast this morning, you will make your way up the Ngorongoro Highlands, and descend down to the crater for full day of game viewing. In the mid-day, you will slowly make your way to the natural lake in the crater, a spot where you will enjoy your packed lunch. And after lunch, you will enjoy the final game before you drive back to your lodge located in Karatu for dinner and overnight at Country Lodge Karatu

Ngorongoro Crater is famed as being the ‘Eighth Wonder of the World’, and is a ‘must see’ on anyone’s itinerary. This extinct volcano – with its 18-kilometre wide crater floor – is home to an abundant and unique ecosystem that encompasses almost all of the wildlife that you would wish to see in Africa. This spectacular setting is a ‘once-in-a- lifetime’ opportunity to experience the rawness and beauty of Africa’s natural flora and fauna.

After breakfast, you will drive to Lake Eyasi, where you will visit the Datoga and hadza tribes. They are pastoralists and the women are beautifully dressed and ornamented with brass. Some still have mask-like tattoos around their eyes. They are very friendly and like to ask other women about their culture and exchange views (and giggles). A blacksmith from the same tribe is another option. The blacksmith makes the brass jewelry for the women and tools for the local market. He also makes arrow heads which the Hadza buy or exchange for honey. Most guests decide to visit both the women in their homes and the blacksmith in his workshop. Enjoy a hot lunch at one of the lodges within the area

After an exciting day with the tribe, you will return to your Camp for dinner and overnight at Eyasi Safari Camp

After a leisurely breakfast, you will drive to Arusha and make a stop at Mto wa Mbu, indulge yourself in the culture of the local getting the inside look at the homes and exquisite craft of the local tribe. You will have a chance to meet locals and learn about banana beer, Makonde woodcarvings, and the tribal painting techniques or a walk thought the farms in the green oasis at the foot of the Rift Valley. Or enjoy a bike ride in the area, and later in the evening and after memorable moments you will drive to Arusha town arriving in the late evening.

Today after a breakfast you will have an opportunity to visits the orphanage that LOMO Tanzania supports around Arusha town. You will visit the market get few things (Food stuffs and stationeries) for the children, drive to the orphanage and spend some quality time with children, have lunch at a local restaurants before being transferred to airport for your departure flight
